Frontierville to Bring Social Gaming New Style

Social gaming on the web has become huge business thanks to site such as MySpace and Facebook which have pioneered much of the technology that is making titles like Cafe World, Fishville and Farmville hugely popular with today’s latest crowd of gamers – many of whom are females between the ages of 18 and 45. However, things are definitely set to heat up as Zynga, the company behind Farmville, the most popular social web game to date, brings out a brand new rural theme game that is being called a cross between Oregon Trail and Little House on the Prairie. The concept of the game is that players will be able to have an experience a bit closer to the popular Civilization series from designer Sid Meier. Since Zynga is leveraging talent from this end of the gaming industry with its chief designer Brian Reynolds who did work on Alpha Centurai, Civilization II and Rise of Nations, the games are expected to experience a sharp rise in popularity as the company grows in experience.

Analysts say that this area of gaming is a new one, but should Zynga manage to handle things correctly and keep the light hearted fun it became known for with Farmville it stands to gain quite a following in the latest segment of gamers online. By incorporating the similar type of country feel that has made players fall in love with Farmville, Frontierville hopes to lure in gamers with very similar play style and a bit more depth than Zynga’s first big hit. The same model for revenue will be used to support the game and now that the beta is available, the company will get crucial feedback on which direction they should take the game in.
